Blues for Kids teaches children of all ages the joy of Blues music, fulfilling one of the stated missions of the Greater Twin Cities Blues Music Society: "to provide learning opportunities related to this American-roots music genre." Blues for Kids workshops are scheduled through schools, community organizations, festivals and events. Workshops are custom designed to meet the needs of the audience and can include guitar, harmonica, piano, vocals, or Blues history. The most popular workshop provides kids with a free harmonica and lesson.  Mike has been an instructor for these events since 2007.  He has taught hundreds of kids throughout the state of Minnesota, and is a popular fixture at the Smokin in Steele Festival where he has taught multiple sessions for the last three years.  Mike holds three degrees in education including a Bachelor's, Master's, and Specialist's.  He is a licensed K-8 teacher and K-12 Administrator.
